Fixed blade knife CONTACT BLACK - Extrema Ratio

Extrema Ratio has developed the first product in a new line. The CONTACT. It has a spear-point blade, flat grind, and diamond-shaped geometry. It features a lower guard to protect the hand from accidental cuts, upper jumping to improve grip, concave “fuller” lightening along the entire length of the blade, and generous blade thickness (the classic 6.30 mm). All these features give the Contact model the title of big brother to the now famous Requiem, revisited in terms of proportions and some technical features. The first in a new line of multi-purpose knives. The blade is made of Böhler N690 steel with a hardness of 58 HRC and a chemical burnishing coating for the Black version. All other colors in the line have a stone-washed finish blade. The handle is still made of Forprene, but it is no longer assembled using side screws. Instead, it is assembled using a truncated cone-shaped stainless steel tang that screws into the bottom and fits into a special seat, making the knife solid and well-balanced. The sheath is minimalist, stripped of most of the fabric and adopting a second-level retention system, echoing the style of the model that inspired it. The main shell is injection molded in shock-resistant nylon. The secondary retention system is reversible for ambidextrous knife carrying. The blade is guided into the sheath thanks to a cone shape that allows for quick insertion and extraction of the knife. To extract the blade, simply press the trigger to release the safety catch that holds it securely in the sheath. A system is inserted into the horizontal slots of the rigid shell to cushion the blade and prevent rattling noises when it is stored inside. The back of the nylon sheath is designed to interface with the M.O.L.L.E. system. The textile part is reduced to a minimum and has the classic two-button safety strap with a belt loop and a thigh strap with rubber reinforcement to prevent rotation. Extrema Ratio aims for this new line by minimizing the thickness and bulk of the knife as much as possible, but without compromising on structural strength and safety accessories.
